Make a KITCHEN TRIVET and a CUSTOM SIGN

In this class you will learn how to operate the CNC machine in the Makerspace woodshop.
You will leave the class with 2 finished projects to use at home or give as gifts. Upon
completion of this class you are certified to use the CNC on your own schedule if you are a
member.

In the morning session you will learn the CNC basics making a kitchen counter trivet. In the
afternoon you will design and make a customized sign.

**Minimum of 2 Students to run the course**

Requirements: Bring your laptop and a USB stick.
Materials: all are supplied
Date: 9 AM–3PM Thursday March 5 2026-at the Shuswap Makerspace in the Innovation Centre (basement) 220 Shuswap St. NE
Cost $150

Note: basic computer skills are assumed; you are not expected to be an expert. If you can
use a web browser (Edge, Safari, Chrome, Firefox) you have the computer skills needed
for this class. Bring a snack for a short lunch break before the afternoon session.
