The Shuswap Makerspace originally opened its doors in 2018 operating under the umbrella of the Salmon Arm Economical Development Society. In 2022, after successfully proving its operating model value to the community, the volunteers then went on to establish its own non profit entity, the Shuswap Creative Makerspace Society, as to which it runs today.

The Shuswap Makerspace is a 3000 square foot facility located downtown Salmon Arm in the bottom of the brightly colored Innovation Center. The space offers a full woodshop, a 3D Printing & Electronics room, a Laser Cutter room, and a multi purpose classroom that is utilized for classes such as Stained Glass, Youth crafts, and Sewing.

The space strives to promote innovation and creativity by facilitating access to shared use equipment, skills training, and prototype development!
