LASER CUTTER 101 COURSE – 2 Part Series

Here’s your chance to learn more about this exciting piece of machinery at the Shuswap Makerspace! Come and get certified to use our 100-Watt HL 1060 Laser Cutting / Engraving machine, and learn all the capabilities of this amazing tool. What are you going to create?!

Session 1 – Sunday November 9th 9am-3pm (with a lunch break)

-In this class, you will learn the basics of the machine, safe operation, and designing for the laser. Knowledge with Windows is required, and there is software that can be downloaded on your personal computer to prepare your files for the laser. You will learn how to design and then use the laser cutter to cut out the project of instructors choice.

Session 2 – Monday November 10th 6pm-8pm

-In this second session you will use the laser to print out a project that you have designed for yourself.

This is a certification class, so once complete, you can then use the Laser Cutter to create your own projects on a drop-in or membership basis!

*Minimum 2 people to run the course.*

Please Note: You will also need a laptop and usb stick. LightBurn software will run on Windows 7.0 or later, 32 or 64 bit, MacOS 10.11 or later, or 64 bit Linux.
