Pen Making Class

Wood Lathe- MAKE A PEN
In this course you will learn how to make a pen:
- prepare a wooden blank which will become the pen barrel
- turn a pen barrel blank on the lathe to the desired shape
- finish the wooden pen barrel to a smooth, sheer look and feel
- assemble the finished pen
- find resources and supplies for more pen projects
Each participant will leave the workshop with a finished Maple Leaf style pen.
Ages 13+ (Under 16 must have a parent supervisor attend with them)
This is not a lathe certification course. You will learn how to safely operate the lathe as an introduction to this fun hobby.

NOTE: We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes. Long hair must be tied up.
Thursday, November 13th from 12pm-3pm, at the Shuswap Makerspace in the Innovation Centre (basement) 220 Shuswap St. NE.

Minimum 2 people to run the course.
