Woodshop 101

  Woodshop 101 – Build A Step Stool

  • Familiarize yourself with the Wood Shop and its resources.
  • Introduce yourself to the machines and power tools that you are most likely to use.
  • Demonstrate how to use those machines and power tools safely.
  • Get hands-on experience in operating the machines and power tools safely.
  • Learn safety rules including, E STOP, first aid kit, eye wash station, fire extinguisher and emergency exits.

This workshop is led by retired cabinet maker and wood craftsperson, Ed Campbell.

You will make a small step stool as part of the class and the wood is included in the cost.

Upon Completion of this class you will then be able to utilize the woodshop for your own projects on a membership or drop in basis!

Open to everyone 16 years and older

NOTE: We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes. Long hair must be tied up. Please bring a lunch and a water bottle.

Saturday April 26th, from 9am-4pm (1 hour lunch break),  at the Shuswap Makerspace in the Innovation Centre (basement) 220 Shuswap St. NE.

***Register soon as space is limited to 3 people!*** Minimum 2 people to run the course
