DESCRIPTION:Wood Lathe – Make A Pen!\n \nIn this course you will learn how to make a pen: \n\nprepare a wooden blank which will become the pen barrel\nturn a pen barrel blank on the lathe to the desired shape\nfinish the wooden pen barrel to a smooth\, sheer look and feel\nassemble the finished pen\nfind resources and supplies for more pen projects\n\nEach participant will leave the workshop with a finished Maple Leaf style pen. \nAges 13+ (Under 16 must have a parent supervisor attend with them) \nAll materials are included in the cost. \n \n*This is not a lathe certification course. You will learn how to safely operate the lathe as an introduction to this fun hobby. \nInstructor: D’Arcy McLeod \nNOTE: We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes. Long hair must be tied up. \nThursday\, November 13th from 12pm-3pm\, at the Shuswap Makerspace in the Innovation Centre (basement) 220 Shuswap St. NE. \n**Register soon as space is limited to 2 people!** \nMinimum 2 people to run the course.
