DESCRIPTION:In this course you will make a “’Maple Leaf” style twist pen. \nThe activities are:\n prepare a wooden blank which will become the pen barrel\n turn a pen barrel blank on the lathe to the desired shape\n finish the wooden pen barrel to a smooth\, sheer look and feel\n assemble the finished pen\n find resources and supplies for more pen projects \nEach participant will leave the workshop with a finished Maple Leaf style pen.\nIn this class you will learn how to safely operate the lathe as an introduction to this fun hobby.\nAll materials are included in the cost. \nInstructor: D. McLeod \nNumber of participants: 2\nDate: Saturday March 14 2026; 10AM-2PM\nCost $80 \nYou might want to bring a lunch or snack for a short break during the workshop. Please no\nloose\, “dangly” style shirt sleeves. \nThis is 14 year old Lucas showing off the pen he made.
