DESCRIPTION:Woodshop 101 \n\nFamiliarize yourself with the Wood Shop and its resources.\nIntroduce yourself to the machines and power tools that you are most likely to use.\nDemonstrate how to use those machines and power tools safely.\nGet hands-on experience in operating the machines and power tools safely.\nLearn safety rules including\, E STOP\, first aid kit\, eye wash station\, fire extinguisher and emergency exits.\n\nThis workshop is led by Steve Henshaw \nYou will make this item as part of the class and the wood is included in the cost. \nUpon Completion of this class you will then be able to utilize the woodshop for your own projects on a membership or drop in basis! \nOpen to everyone 16 years and older \nNOTE: We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes. Long hair must be tied up. DESCRIPTION:Build your very own FOLDING ADIRONDACK chair! \nThis class is a fully instructed workshop that will have you building a beautiful\, folding Adirondack chair. Not only will it be lightweight and last a long time\, but you’ll be able to fold it for easy storage! \nLed by instructor Ed Campbell\, you will learn how to use many of the tools in the woodshop\, with an emphasis on safety and proper use of equipment. \nThe cost is $250 and suitable for ages 16 & up.   \nSaturday July 25th from 9am – 4pm with an hour for lunch. Please bring a water bottle and your lunch. \n Location: Shuswap Makerspace 220 Shuswap St. NE Salmon Arm (Bottom of the brightly coloured Innovation Centre) \n**Register soon as space is limited to 2 people!
