DESCRIPTION:INTRO TO 3-D PRINTING: \n~ Learn the basics of 3D printing and how to safely and successfully use the 3D printers and software to print your own 3D objects. Wooden DIY kits will be available for purchase!\n\n\n\nHave a regular item for repair? Bring it by and see if our volunteers have time to get it fixed for you!\n(This will be dependent on how busy the volunteers are with the Father’s Day event and may not be ready for pick up that same day.)\n\n\nRegistration is not required. All repairs are by donation.\n\nDIY kits range from $20-$30\n\nGet an entry ticket to the Piccadilly Mall 30th anniversary giveaway!\n\nOur table will be set up in front of Best Buy Express (formerly the Source)

SUMMARY:Intro to Stained Glass
DESCRIPTION:Intro to Stained Glass!\n \n  \n\nEach student will make a simple sun catcher that will have between 6 and 12 pieces. There will be 4 designs to choose from.\nThe instructor will show students basic glass cutting techniques and various cutting methods for their sun catcher.\nYou will learn how to prepare the edges for foil tape and how to tack pieces in place over the pattern on the work surface; as well as how to apply the solder and patina.\n\n\n\n\nYou will need to bring a pair of ‘high dexterity’ gloves for yourself. – These can be purchased at many local stores (Dollarama\, Canadian Tire\, Walmart\, any hardware or gardening store)\n\n\n\nAll other supplies and tools are included in the course. \n\nThis workshop is led by retired electrician and stained glassenthusiast\, Jim Hilland.\nNOTE:We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes. DESCRIPTION:Build your very own FOLDING ADIRONDAK chair at the Shuswap Makerspace\, and get certified for using the Woodshop!  \n \nThis 2 day class is a fully instructed course that will have you building a beautiful\, folding Adirondack chair. Not only will it be lightweight and last a long time\, but you’ll be able to fold it for easy storage! This chair will be made out of fir. \nLed by instructor Ed Campbell\, this course also includes your Woodshop 101 certification. You will learn how to use most of the tools in the woodshop\, with an emphasis on safety and proper use of equipment. Once complete you will be certified to utilize our woodshop on a membership or drop in basis for your personal projects! (All personal projects will require you to bring your own wood. However all supplies are included for this Course.) \nThe cost is $240 for ages 16 & up.   \nSaturday May 31st from 9am – 4pm  &  Sunday\, June 1st from 10am – 1pm at the Shuswap Makerspace 220 Shuswap St. NE Salmon Arm (Bottom of the brightly colored Innovation Centre) \n**Register soon as space is limited to 2 people! DESCRIPTION:LASER CUTTER 101 COURSE  \n– 2 Part Series –  \nSunday April 27th 9am-3pm & Tuesday April 29th 6pm-8pm \n  \nHere’s your chance to learn more about this exciting piece of machinery at the Shuswap Makerspace! Come and get certified to use our 100-Watt HL 1060 Laser Cutting / Engraving machine\, and learn all the capabilities of this amazing tool. What are you going to create?! \n  \nSession 1 – 6 hours with an hour break for lunch \n-In this class\, you will learn the basics of the machine\, safe operation\, and designing for the laser. Knowledge with Windows is required\, and there is software that can be downloaded on your personal computer to prepare your files for the laser.
