DESCRIPTION:LASER CUTTER 101 COURSE  \n– 2 Part Series –  \nSunday April 27th 9am-3pm & Tuesday April 29th 6pm-8pm \n  \nHere’s your chance to learn more about this exciting piece of machinery at the Shuswap Makerspace! Come and get certified to use our 100-Watt HL 1060 Laser Cutting / Engraving machine\, and learn all the capabilities of this amazing tool. What are you going to create?! \n  \nSession 1 – 6 hours with an hour break for lunch \n-In this class\, you will learn the basics of the machine\, safe operation\, and designing for the laser. Knowledge with Windows is required\, and there is software that can be downloaded on your personal computer to prepare your files for the laser. You will learn how to design and then use the laser cutter to cut out the project of instructors choice. \nSession 2 – 2 hours \n-In this second session you will use the laser to print out a project that you have designed for yourself. \n  \n**This is a certification class\, so once complete\, you can create your own projects and use the space on a drop-in\, monthly\, or annual membership basis! \nThis workshop is led by Pat Shea \n  \nThis course runs over 2 days – Sunday April 27th 9am-3pm AND Tuesday April 29th 6pm-8pm \n  \nRegister soon as space is limited to 4 people. \n*Minimum 2 people to run the course.* \nPlease Note: You will also need a laptop and usb stick. LightBurn software will run on Windows 7.0 or later\, 32 or 64 bit\, MacOS 10.11 or later\, or 64 bit Linux.

Long hair must be tied up.
